When should the food be changed?

In the case of medium sized dogs, a change in diet should be considered between the ages of 8 and 10 years. For large and giant breeds, the change of diet should start earlier, between 6 and 8 years of age.

It is also important to keep an eye on your pet and to take this into account especially if he shows a decrease in shape, slower movements, loss of muscle mass or irritability.

Which food should I choose?

Baltica has developed a special senior dog food based on Polish fish (sprat, herring, flounder) with the addition of highly nutritious seaweed and Antarctic krill as a source of astaxanthin and fatty acids (EFAs). The food's low glycaemic index and reduced fat content help to reduce the risk of obesity, which is particularly prevalent in older dogs.

In BalticaSenior Vitality there is, above all, a high proportion of fish meat (as much as 30 %, which, thanks to the drying process, corresponds to as much as 90 % of fresh meat), bioelements in liposomal form, which ensure 90 % better bioavailability, as well as so-called SUPERFOODS: marine algae and Antarctic krill.

What also sets Senior Vitality apart is that it isfree from potential allergens such as chicken, gluten, legumes (peas), preservatives, cereals (including rice) and the pesticides they contain. In addition, all wild-caught fish in the food are controlled for their heavy metal content.

Diet and what else?

In addition, your dog's diet can be supplemented with health-promoting fish oils,, which are a natural source of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially EPA and DHA. They are particularly recommended for dogs wishing to maintain healthy joints, bones, kidneys and heart.
