What should we know about feeding a puppy?

A young dog has much higher nutritional requirements than an adult dog. Therefore, only products suited to their age should be used.

Puppy food provides young dogs with all the necessary nutrients. It is important that portions are adapted to the age of the dog and not to overfeed him, as the way in which we shape our pet's habits will have a direct impact on how he functions in the future.

Particular attention should be paid to ensuring that the food contains the right proportions of calcium and phosphorus, which promote good growth and skeletal development.

Dogs reach adulthood at different ages. The use of puppy food should therefore be considered on a case-by-case basis.

How should my puppy eat?

Up to the 4th week, your puppy should eat wet food. After this time you can easily switch to dry food. The number of meals should be gradually reduced, starting with 5 small meals at birth, then 3-4 meals in the first few months and finally 2 meals a day.

Any good puppy food should also contain a good balance of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. With this composition, you can be sure that your dog is eating properly.

At Baltica, we attach particular importance to quality. We only offer safe and tested products. Our pet food is free from potential allergens such as chicken, gluten, peas, preservatives, cereals and pesticides.

In our range you will find puppy food for small, medium and large breeds as well as giant breed puppies. The vast majority is based on fish meat and valuable fats. The most popular fish present in a dog's diet is salmon.

If you have a small breed puppy at home, be sure to try "Baltica Puppy&Junior Hypoallergenic", which is based on hypoallergenic meat and salmon oil.

For medium and large breed dog owners, we recommend a perfectly composed mix of Baltica Losos with Duck, which additionally contains pumpkin and blackcurrant .

If you own a large breed puppy, take a look at our premium grain-free super food for puppies aged 3-24 months - Baltica Junior Hypoallergenic Large.
